The Board and Leadership of Mountain West Mothers’ Milk Bank are grateful for the many community members who so generously support our mission to promote infant health and nutrition by screening, processing, and dispensing donor human milk, in addition to advocating for and promoting lactation and breastfeeding. We honor that generosity and have adopted this Donor Bill of Rights.

Donors have the right to be clearly informed of the Mountain West Mothers’ Milk Bank mission, of the way MWMMB intends to use donated resources, and of our capacity to use donations effectively for the intended purpose.

Donors have the right to be fully informed of the identity of those serving on the organization’s governing board, and shall be able to expect the board to exercise prudent judgement in its stewardship responsibilities.

Donors may freely and easily access our most recent 990 forms and all other available organizational documents as required by law.

Donors have the right to know their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they have been given.

Donors will receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.

Donors will have their donor information handled with respect and confidentiality.

Donors have the right to expect that all relationships with individuals representing MWMMB will be professional in nature.

Donors have the right to be informed of the role at MWMMB of any person contacting them on the organization’s behalf.

Donors have the right to request that their names be removed from any active mailing list maintained by MWMMB and have this request promptly honored.

Donors are encouraged to ask questions of MWMMB representatives when considering or making donations.
