How to Pump and Store Your Milk

Some mothers have already pumped and stored milk (frozen solid) before requesting donor status. If she qualifies, this milk may be accepted if it is less than 11 months old. The milk bank will provide additional information.

If a mother chooses to pump after she has been qualified as a milk donor, the milk bank will send out milk collection bags for her future needs.

The milk bank will provide instructions and handouts on:

  • Collection and storage of breast milk

  • Transporting of breast milk

  • Cleaning of pumps

Mountain West Mothers' Milk Bank also offers consultation and support for breastfeeding and pumping through our trained Lactation Consultants and Educators.  You can reach them at 801-415-9393, and asking to speak to the lactation staff.
